Doctoral Student

I am working as a doctoral student at Faculty of Social Science, Business and Economics, Information Studies.My studies are also associated with Minorities Research Profile. 

My dissertation aims at understanding the information practices and socio-cultural challenges of integration of women refugees in Sweden.

May 2019 - October 2019

Visiting Researcher

I worked as a visiting researcher at the Swedish School of Library and Information Science, Högskolan i Borås, Sweden, under the supervision of Associate Professor Helena Francke and Associate Professor Ola Pilerot. I conducted my literature review and theoretical framework during my stay. Attended PhD course and some semi-structured interviews with study subject.

2015 - 2016 

Research Associate

I worked as a research associate in Department of Management, UMT university, Pakistan. I was responsible for research- related tasks, managing journal editing tasks and arranging conferences and workshops. I got a chance to enhance my research skills working with diverse Professors and students. I also taught the introductory marketing course to Bachelor's students in one semester.

I am working on my PhD project about understanding the information practices of womem refugees in Sweden at Åbo Akademi University. I am responsible for conducting full-time research on my project.

Masters in Information and Knowledge Management was two years program in which I studied mainly information management and data management courses along with the minor courses from marketing specialization.

I graduated MBA, a two year program, from Malaysia. I studied mainly business, human resource, marketing, management, data management, operations management and finance courses. I completed a reserach thesis at the end of the program with the topic of 'how international programs are marketed to the Pakistani studnets in Malaysia?'.

2007 - Intermediate Exam Board Award

The award of cash price and a gold medal was offered to Khadijah Saeed Khan upon achieving the first position among girls' group of intermediate examination in Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Pakistan in year 2007.

2019 - Oskar Öflunds Grant

The research grant is awarded for conducting independent PhD research â€‹work for few months. The purpose of the foundation is to support domestic non-profit activities by distributing grants to individuals and communities active in various fields of science and culture.

2019  - Jubileumsfonden Grant

The grant is awarded by Åbo Akademi funds named jubileumsfonden, to conduct part of my research in a Swedish University as a visiting researcher. I conducted data collection, courses and other tasks. Grants are awarded for research, study and travel with the aim to utilize research equipment and resources available in Sweden, e.g. libraries, archives, research activities, special studies and special education.

2020 - Migration Institute of Finland Grant

A small travel grant is offered to participate in the migration conference IMISCOE 2020. The institute offers grants for researchers in the field of migration in Finland
