Hi, I’m Khadijah
I am a doctoral researcher in the field of Information Studies and Minorities at Åbo Akademi University, Finland. My dissertation is on information practices and socio-cultural challenges of women refugees in integration in Nordic countries. I love my work as a researcher such as, visits to other international universities, collaborations, attending conferences and workshops, writing articles & managing projects.
Well! I am more than a researcher. This wesbite is born from the combination of my three extreme passions : research, travelling & writing. I am a Pakistani born and raised in Saudi Arabia, lived in Pakistan, Malaysia, Dubai, Sweden and Finland in last ten years. Travelling has become my way of life and my passion to explore the world. So, I do write blogs about my travel experiences in addition to my research experiences in my PhD journey.
LIFE AS A PHD RESEARCHER
My blogs are about my experiences in my PhD journey, its challenges and how I deal with these challenges in my life. Second big section in my blogging is where I do share my travelling experiences around the world, my adventures, and tips for other travellers. Another section of my blogs is where I write about my "Life in Finland" as an expat, what I feel about Finnish culture, language and people and places. Through my blogs, I wish to convey the message of motivation and progress in a researcher's life and how life outside PhD can be manageable and fun. Find my blogs in each ection below.
